Star smiled very happily and she nuzzled her new daughter too. Though she was worried; she wasn't producing a lot of milk like normal, and the foal was still too young to eat grass. But it seemed like she had survived so she should be fine.

Star smiled. Make yourself at home. And you do know that you are the heiress, she said. She shot a glance at De vlam smiling.

De vlam smiled broadly. An heiress. It sounded so wonderful! And maybe one day she would have brothers and sisters to rule with. He allowed himself to daydream, just a little.

Star laughed at her little filly. Yes, and you may even have a brother who will rule here someday, you along side him! she said. She was happy that Last Night had a mother now.

"Well, that is if you don't want to leave before then," De vlam added. From his experience, most fillies, heiress or not, left the herd at age two or so to find themselves a stallion. He supposed it was because they felt.... incomplete without a stallion to love.

"Well," he said, smiling as the filly ran off. "An heir would be nice, but I don't want to have one if neither you nor Dream want a foal." In truth, he had been thinking about an heir, and hoped for one, though he didn't want to pressure his mares into anything.

Star bit her lip. Somtimes she wanted a foal, and now she had one. But the experience that was held in actually having (won't go into details) a foal is essential. Taking a deep breath, she asked quickly, May I have a foal? Well, of my own? She did not want to seem that she did not want Last Night. The filly was wonderful.

De vlam nuzzled her, smiling. "Of course, m'love." He wondered to himself if this was what she had been thinking about earlier, before she had collapsed. He felt cold as he thought of her laying on the ground, and how helpless he felt. But she was better now. He smiled again. "Shall I lead the way?" He started trotting away.
